Square Enix Montréal, the award-winning studio behind Hitman Sniper and the GO series, has released a new game for iOS as well as android published, Hitman Sniper: The Shadows. The sniper game is a role playing game that offers a whole new story of an assassin. As a member of the so-called Shadows, players must travel the world, covertly eliminate targets, compete against others, and make a name for themselves as agents of the International Contracting Agency (ICA).
Hitman Sniper: The Shadows follows the disappearance of Agent 47 and tells the story of a group of hitmen dubbed the “Shadows”. Members of this group operate in a hidden world where a new criminal network threatens global security.
“Our goal from the very beginning was to create a high-quality Hitman Sniper game for mobile devices, both in terms of graphics and gameplay,” said Simon Dungur, Senior Producer for Hitman Sniper: The Shadows at Square Enix Montréal. “This game was supposed to be a new beginning, not a sequel. This vision gave us the creative freedom to move in a different direction. For example, we were able to add shadows and create a more immersive experience for players.”
Unique playable characters
At launch, Hitman Sniper: The Shadows features six professional assassin snipers, each with their own story, playstyle, personality, and abilities. This versatility gives players much more freedom in terms of approach and each order. Each professional assassin is still at the start of their “career” and gives players the chance to turn their assassin into an ICA agent.
New locations
The game features new locations with different vantage points and times of day, giving players more options to eliminate targets. Each location brings unique goals and becomes an exploratory environment – its own narrative space with its own problems.
