03/05/2022, 12:30 PM, Maximilian Hochm – GTA 5 was first launched in 2013 and is still one of the most popular action games for PC and consoles. After the game was originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360, there were correspondingly adapted versions when PS4 and Xbox One (X) were released. Now the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions should arrive promptly. Read more about their features below.
Still a Rockstar favorite, GTA 5 is currently being redesigned for 3G consoles. But PC players and users of “old” consoles should also benefit from the revision. Two weeks before the release on current consoles, the developers published additional information in a post on Rockstar Wire.
GTA 5: Tinkerer plays GTA V on the Game Boy
For the first time, GTA V is said to offer different graphics modes on the new consoles that players can choose between. The Fidelity preset delivers native 4K resolution including ray tracing and aims for 30fps. Due to slower performance, the Xbox Series S only supports this mode in extended 4K resolution instead of native resolution. The performance mode, which is likely to be of interest to most gamers, offers increased 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. As a compromise, there’s also an RT performance mode, which also uses 4K upscaling, but at the same time should offer 60fps ray tracing. All next-gen versions are said to offer improved anti-aliasing, nicer lighting, more detailed vegetation, and faster load times.
The PS5 controller with haptic feedback is supported and should provide different resistance on different surfaces depending on the in-game weather. Tempest 3D Audio and Spatial Sound should also be supported. Five new cars will be added to the online mode, as well as new updates and a new racing mode will be available. New online players will receive GTA$4,000,000, vehicles, weapons, and training at launch. They should be able to start directly in Heists, Races and Free Roam through the main menu. GTA V and GTA Online are scheduled to release on March 15th for current consoles, with preloads available from March 8th.
