Apparel, Customs 1976 Pacer featured in the 1992 comedy “Wayne’s World” was auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale event on Wednesday for $71,500, a new record for the model.

That’s almost double the $37,400 paid for it in 2016, when it was auctioned off by “Why pawn?organization Rick Harrison after he has fully recovered.

The baby blue hatchback nicknamed “The Mirthmobile” still has the flame decals, mismatched wheels, cup holder, and ceiling-mounted liquorice pitcher it featured in the movie.

And while it has an exceptionally high price tag due to its Hollywood provenance, another 1976 Pacer sold with it for $34,100, or about double the recent sale price for a perfect car .

The “Wayne’s World” The Pacer sale comes at a pivotal time, with the film’s 30th anniversary set to be celebrated on February 14.
