The XPG brand represents the XPG Atom series solid state drives. These are M.2 2280 size drives equipped with a PCIe interface. According to the manufacturer, they target users with varying needs and budgets. The series includes XPG Atom 30, 40 and 50 models.
The first two models are equipped with PCIe Gen3 x4 interface. They support NVMe 1.3 protocol. and provide sequential read speeds up to 2500 and 3500 MB / s. Sequential write speeds reach 2000 and 3000 MB / s, respectively. A distinctive feature of the Atom 50 model is the presence of a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface and support for the NVMe 1.4 protocol. This SSD offers read and write speeds of up to 5000 and 4500 MB / s, respectively. It can be used as an additional storage device in the PS5 console.
SLC Caching and Host Memory Buffer technologies have been used in the drives to improve performance. In the case of the Atom 30, the read and write performance with random access in 4K blocks reaches 180,000 and 200,000 IOPS, respectively. In the case of the Atom 40, these figures reach 480,000 and 260,000 IOPS, respectively, and in the case of the Atom 50 – 440,000 and 400,000 IOPS.
The series includes drives up to 1 TB. They come with a five-year warranty.
The MSRP of the 250GB Atom 30 is $ 60, the 500GB $ 80, and the 1TB $ 140. The MSRP of the 512GB Atom 40 is $ 100, and the 1TB MSRP is $ 180. The MSRP of the 512GB Atom 50 is $ 120, and the 1TB MSRP is $ 180.
