Z690 mainboards: Gigabyte also accompanies Intel Core i-12000 on a broad front

After MSI and Asus, Gigabyte has also presented the Z690 portfolio for Intel Core i-12000 with numerous mainboards. Once again, users are offered a very wide range of products from the Spartan circuit board to the water-cooled high-end bolide with a monoblock and an extremely high use of materials.

Aorus as the top series for Core i-12000

As usual, Gigabyte positions the Aorus series at the top of the Z690 range, its air-cooled top model the Gigabyte Aorus Z690 Extreme is that the manufacturer on the Z690 website highlights separately.

    The Aorus Z690 Extreme has a strong power supply with 20 + 1 + 2 phases with 105 amps and the new cooling solution “Fins Array III”, a large collection of expansive Heat pipes as well as passive heat sinks that keep the chipset and the MOSFET around the LGA 1700 socket at a constant temperature.

    The spearhead of the Aorus series supports up to 128 GB DDR5-6600 (OC) and offers 2 × PCIe 5.0 x16 as well as 4 × M.2 Gen 4 x4 with 64 Gbps and 6 × SATA with 6 Gbps. In addition to the fast USB 3.2 Gen 2 × 2 (20 Gbps), which is represented twice, the Extreme offers a total of 10 × USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) and 4 × USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps).

    The network components consist of 2 × LAN with 10 Gbit / s and 2.5 Gbit / s from Marvell and Intel as well as an Intel AX210 with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Gigabyte has positioned the water-cooled Xtreme Waterforce with carbon monoblock above the Aorus Z690 Extreme, which has not yet been unveiled.

    Gigabyte Aorus Series

    In the Aorus series alone there are 15 Gigabyte mainboards, 9 of which work with DDR5, while 6 boards can be equipped with DDR4. In addition to the Aorus series, the manufacturer offers two other product series with Z690 chipsets for the hybrid CPUs of the Core i9-12900K, i7-12700K and i5-12600K types.

    On the Website the manufacturer presents all Z690 mainboards in detail. Like MSI and Asus before, Gigabyte has not yet commented on the prices of the Z690 boards. In addition to numerous regular offshoots, which are expected to be positioned more cheaply, Gigabyte has launched three mainboards in the Aero series for creative professionals.

    The editorial team accompanies the start of the 12th core generation (“Alder Lake”) with a detailed test and all the details on November 4th.
