Yesterday it became known about a record quarter for Tesla: in three months the company has sold over 240,000 electric vehicles. However, not only Tesla is feeling confident in the market – China’s BYD reported a 257.62% year-on-year increase in sales of new energy vehicles in September.

In a month, the company sold 71,100 “new energy” vehicles, as both clean electric vehicles and hybrids are called in China. In September, BYD sold 36,238 electric vehicles and 33,800 plug-in hybrids. Also in September, the company sold 1,077 new energy commercial vehicles. Interestingly, sales of traditional cars (with internal combustion engines) were only 7672.
