Apple has released the first public beta of macOS Monterey 12.1. As it turns out, the update adds Monterey’s long-promised SharePlay feature.
According to Apple’s note, SharePlay is included in macOS Monterey 12.1 beta. Therefore, beta users can already use FaceTime video sharing and listening to music with their friends and family, as well as screen sharing.
SharePlay has already been released in stable releases of iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, and tvOS 15.1 released earlier this week. However, it never appeared in the stable version of macOS 12 Monterey, also released to users on October 25th. Apple then noted that SharePlay will be added in the next update.
With SharePlay, FaceTime users can listen to music together, watch TV shows, movies, and share their screen with others.
