Google has done its job – yesterday the company presented the final version of Android 12, now the ball is on the side of smartphone manufacturers: when users get a stable Android 12 with a proprietary interface at their disposal, it entirely depends on the efficiency of each specific manufacturer. In this regard, Samsung is not particularly inferior to competitors, although it does not participate in the Android 12 open beta testing program under the patronage of Google itself. Evidence that Samsung is actively working to bring Android 12 to its smartphones is the new One UI 4.0 beta released to open beta program members and installed via the Samsung Members app.

Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra get One UI 4.0 beta based on Android 12 and RAM Plus expansion technology

This beta version of One UI 4.0 is built on Android 12 and contains some of the salient features of the new version of Google’s OS. For example, when you install a new wallpaper, the theme is automatically changed. It’s part of a new design language called Material You. Also, the new firmware improves the accuracy of the Samsung Keyboard and introduces a microphone mode that allows you to highlight the user’s voice during a video call against the background noise of the environment. Finally, another innovation in the firmware is RAM Plus technology. It allows you to increase the RAM of your smartphone by 4 GB by creating a virtual partition in flash memory. Previously, this technology was received by the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, and now it has reached the Galaxy S21 series smartphones.

According to the source, the new version of One UI 4.0 beta is available for Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra users participating in the beta testing program in China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the United States and the United Kingdom. The update is identified by build number ZUJ1.
