This year MSI released its first SSDs. The family is led by the Spatium M480 series with up to 7,000 MB / s via PCIe 4.0. Now the variants with an unusually shaped cooler are also available for sale, which cost around 30 euros more.

In the summer, MSI presented its extensive SSD debut in detail. The spearhead is the Spatium M480 with PCIe 4.0 x4, which uses the powerful Phison E18 controller and 96-layer TLC NAND from Micron. Initially, only the versions without a cooler were available, which currently cost around 175 euros (1 TB) and 370 euros (2 TB). Only now is the version with the aluminum heat sink, which is striking due to the curved design and the bronze color and which MSI had previously advertised with in pictures.

The version with cooler is being offered by the first German dealers at prices from around 210 euros (1 TB) and 400 euros (2 TB) and should be available shortly. The extravagant cooler costs around 30 euros more for the time being. However, it cannot be ruled out that prices will still move down if there is wide availability. MSI promises up to 20 ° C lower temperatures.
