On the territory of Russia in November it will be possible to observe a partial eclipse of the Moon with a maximum phase of 0.97. The press service of the Moscow Planetarium told about this in its monthly forecast.
The eclipse will occur on November 19. On this day, 0.97 of the lunar disk will plunge into the shadow of the Earth at 12:04 Moscow time.
This eclipse can be called “nearly total”, as much of the lunar disk will take on a reddish tint.
Only residents of the Far Eastern regions will be able to observe this phenomenon in the evening. They will have access to the maximum and partial phases of this eclipse. In Moscow, this eclipse will be impossible to see, since the Moon during the eclipse will be under the horizon.
The largest phase of the eclipse, which will be almost complete (0.97), can be observed in the Trans-Baikal regions, and the end of the eclipse – in central, eastern and northern Siberia. It should be borne in mind that in most of these regions the eclipse will occur in the early evening, when the greatly weakened moon will be visible low above the horizon in the still light sky.
