Canalys analysts have published a report on the smartphone market for the third quarter. Supplies decreased by 6% to 348 million units.
Samsung remained the leader, having sold 69.4 million smartphones, but its shipments dropped by 13%, that is, more than the market average.
But Apple, which regained its second place, increased shipments by 13%, to 49.2 million smartphones. However, Xiaomi is not far behind. The company sold 44 million devices, which is 7% less than a year earlier.
The top five also included Oppo and Vivo, which sold 36.7 and 34.2 million smartphones, respectively, only in the first case this corresponds to an increase of 18%, and in the second – only 8%.
Analysts note the excellent start of sales of the iPhone 13 line, thanks to which Apple was able to significantly increase sales. The cheaper iPhone 12 line also sold well.
