As expected, Apple has scheduled another event for new releases in the fall – the time will come on October 18th. New Macs and more about the new macOS are expected. In keeping with the announcement of the launch under the title “New Dimensions” (“Unleashed”), Apple’s current hardware is difficult to deliver.

At 7:00 p.m. German time, Tim Cook will again give a virtual tour of the new products on the Apple Park site as part of a recording – Apple still does not hold live events to which employees and press representatives are invited.

MacBook Pro with 14 and 16 inches and M1X

Among other things, a new 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected, which Apple has not updated for around two years after the first MacBooks with its own M1 processor. In line with this, the availability of the MacBook Pro 16 inch (test) in the Apple online store and in many local Apple stores has deteriorated significantly today. It is questionable whether new goods will arrive at all, if they are no longer available. This has always been a sign that new devices are imminent.

The new model is expected to switch to Apple’s own silicon as well, but get a more powerful processor, the M1X. A new 14-inch MacBook Pro has also been hotly traded in the rumor mill for months. Both models should rely on mini LED screens and again offer significantly more connections than current models. MagSafe for connecting the power supply is also predicted to make a comeback.

In addition to new Macs, Apple will also announce further details on the upcoming launch of the new macOS 12 “Monterey”. The final version of the new operating system should be available as an update in the evening or a few days after the event. It remains to be seen whether Apple will also show the long-awaited 3rd generation AirPods.

As usual, Apple does not say in advance which products or services the keynote will be about.
