After Google has completed Android 12 and is now distributing the new mobile operating system with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), Realme announces the release of the new Realme UI 3.0 based on it for October 13, 2021. The Realme UI, however, has its roots with “ColorOS” from Oppo.

Like the Realme UI (“Realme User Interface”) in version 2.0, the Realme UI 3.0 is also based on the open source offshoot of Android 12, from the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). From 2020, the Realme UI replaced the in-house operating system ColorOS on Realme’s smartphones in its home market of China.

Specially designed for the European and US market, the Realme UI has and supports all relevant Google services including a certified Google Play Store Widevine for playing content with DRM protection.

Realme will reveal shortly which smartphones will receive the Realme UI 3.0 and thus Android 12. However, new models such as the Realme 7 5G and the Realme 7i with Helio G85 are considered safe.

Like the Chinese website Weibo has revealed, ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 is also about to be released and can already be tried out as a beta.
