In mid-August, the WhatsApp development team began rolling out the iPhone chat feature to Samsung smartphones, which is now available to all owners of these smartphones. At the same time, the developers of WhatsApp announced that this procedure will require a cable with Lightning and USB-C connectors.
At the moment, the popular WhatsApp platform only offers this feature for Samsung smartphones. Users can transfer their account information, profile pictures, personal and group chats, media files, and even settings from iPhone to Samsung smartphone. The company announced that it is looking to expand this chat transfer feature to include more smartphones from the South Korean tech giant on the compatibility list.
Any Samsung phone running Android 10 or later with Samsung SmartSwitch 3.7.22.1 or later can now use the WhatsApp chat function. The WhatsApp blog says that the feature will soon be available for other Android smartphones. On the other hand, iPhone users need WhatsApp iOS version 2.21.160.17 or higher to use this feature. As for the presence of a cable, then, yes, data transfer for maximum privacy is done this way, and not through the cloud.
