The “World’s Best Smartwatch” has a new display that’s 20% larger than the Watch Series 6 and 70% brighter. The bezels have been thinned to fit 50% more text than before, making it easier to reply to messages with your watch. Along with the new display, the Watch Series 7 has received a ton of new themes.
The design is somewhat refreshed, with rounded corners. Apple calls the Watch Series 7 its most durable watch: it is IP6X dustproof and water resistant (WR 50 marking, which means the watch can withstand occasional immersion in water).
Apple Watch Series 7 is compatible with Apple Watch Series 6 bands, but the company has tried to introduce a large number of new bands as well. The watch also supports fast charging – it charges 33% faster than Watch Series 6 (from 0 to 80% in 45 minutes). A USB-C cable is used for charging. Apple Watch Series 7 supports the determination of heart rate and blood oxygenation level, and can record an ECG. Several new sports modes have been introduced.
The exact date for the start of sales of Watch Series 7 is not specified – Apple simply said that it will be possible to buy the new product in the fall. Prices in the US start at $ 380.
