Oppo is renewing the upper middle class smartphone with the Reno 6 5G at a price of 499 euros, which is to be available in Germany in the color Stellar Black with immediate effect. Above all, the video mode with portrait function should make the smartphone stand out from the crowd. There is also a MediaTek Dimensity 900 and particularly fast loading.
Bokeh effect no longer just for photos
The MediaTek processor with two Cortex-A78 and six Cortex-A55 cores as well as Mali-G68-MC4-GPU processes video recordings in “Bokeh Flare Portrait” mode in real time and provides scenes with a characteristic, blurred bokeh effect in the background, how many smartphones have only supported it with still images so far. With the “AI Highlight Video” function, an algorithm adjusts the exposure of the video if required and should always “clear, bright and colorful“Take care of shots. The “Ultra Steady Video” feature is intended to provide high-quality digital stabilization, while the Ultra-Dark function is intended to ensure good video recordings even at night.
The triple camera of the Reno 6 5G shoots normal photos with 64 megapixels (f / 1.7) for the wide-angle, 8 megapixels (f / 2.2) for the ultra-wide-angle and 2 megapixels for the macro lens. The front camera, located in a circular recess in the top left of the display, offers 32 megapixels.
90 Hz OLED display
For the screen, Oppo relies on an AMOLED panel with stretched Full HD resolution (2,400 × 1,080) and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. An optical fingerprint sensor is integrated in the lower area of the display.

Fast charging with 65 watts
The 4,300 mAh battery of the Reno 6 5G can be charged by users with up to 65 watts using “SuperVOOC 2.0” from Oppo. The manufacturer states that a full charge from 0 to 100 percent can be completed in just 28 minutes.
Anti-fingerprint case
Oppo packs the technology in a 72.1 × 156.8 × 7.59 mm (W × H × D) housing, which is characterized by completely flattened side areas with a bevel on the front and back. The design is inevitably reminiscent of smartphones such as the iPhone 4 or the current iPhone 12 (test). With “Stellar Black”, Oppo has opted for a matte finish that is said to be particularly resistant to fingerprints. Android 11 with its own ColorOS 11.3 attachment is used as the operating system.
