Mercedes-Benz, ahead of the opening of the IAA Mobility auto show in 2021 in Munich, has published images of the promising electric SUV EQG. The novelty is called the EQG Concept and demonstrates what the G-Class will be like when it is transferred to electric traction.
Alas, the technical details have not yet been disclosed – there is no data on power, battery capacity or power reserve. It is only reported that the EQG will be an all-wheel drive car with an imitation of a lower transmission row and 22-inch wheels.
Actually, the demonstration of these pictures is an attempt to show the potential audience how the design of the legend will change after the transition to electric power plants. As you can see, the exterior as a whole will remain the same, but there will be illuminated elements characteristic of the company’s electric vehicles: here they are on the sidewalls, on the mirrors, on the spare wheel cover. Even the front grille is backlit. And there is also a two-color version, like the flagship EQS.
When the electric G-Class will come out is unknown. But it has always been a status car, so there is no doubt that in terms of power, range and functionality, it will correspond to the company’s passenger cars.
