The open-world racing game Forza Horizon 5 succeeds the successful and highly acclaimed Forza Horizon 4 (test) and also takes up more than 100 gigabytes of storage space, ideally on an SSD. The game already runs on processors with four cores or threads, but it can also be different.

The development studio belonging to Microsoft Playground Games divides the system requirements for the November 9th Forza Horizon 5 into the three categories “Minimum”, “Recommended” and “Ideal” and breaks down the technical specifications for AMD and Intel separately. The absolute minimum is an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (test) with four first-generation Zen cores and an Intel Core i5-4460, which should be combined with an AMD Radeon RX 470 or an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970. The storage space requirement is meanwhile always 110 gigabytes – ideally an SSD should be used.

In terms of memory, 8 GB of RAM is the minimum requirement, while 16 GB is both recommended and considered ideal. We also recommend an AMD Radeon RX 590 or an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM each, which are “fed” by an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X (test) or an Intel Core i5-8400.

Ideally, an AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT (test) or an Intel Core i7-10700K should be combined with an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (test) or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 (test). The graphics memory should be 10 to 16 GB in this case.

The developers also announced that the Xbox Wireless Controller will support haptic feedback on all platforms – including Steam for the first time.
