Embedded front camera and 48-megapixel main camera. iPhone 14 will get a screen like the current Android flagships, but still give way in terms of camera resolution

Apple has just unveiled the iPhone 13 smartphones, but the company is clearly already working hard on the next generation smartphones. Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities shared his thoughts on what to expect from the iPhone 14.

Embedded front camera and 48-megapixel main camera. iPhone 14 will get a screen like the current Android flagships, but still give way in terms of camera resolution

According to him, the iPhone 14 will finally get rid of the large notch at the top of the screen. But not in all versions, but only in the top two. Obviously, we are talking about the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. They will receive embedded front cameras, and most of the elements of the Face ID system will be located behind the screen.

The base iPhone 14 will retain the screen cutout of the iPhone 13, while the iPhone 14 mini will not. Also, the two top models will finally receive a 48 megapixel image sensor as part of the main camera. A sensor of this resolution was credited with the iPhone 12, but even in the iPhone 13, Apple still clings to 12-megapixel sensors.

If with Face ID everything is more or less clear, then with Touch ID everything is complicated. Previously, the analyst predicted that in-screen fingerprint scanners will appear in 2022, that is, in the iPhone 14. Now, due to a slower-than-expected development processor, the in-screen Touch ID system will appear in the iPhone only in 2023 ( i.e. iPhone 15). And this despite the fact that all modern Android flagships have had sub-screen finger scanners for a long time, not to mention the embedded front cameras and main cameras of much higher resolution.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has not abandoned the development of a foldable smartphone with a flexible screen, but such a model has been postponed until 2024. By that time, Samsung will have released the sixth generation of the foldable flagship of the Galaxy Fold line.
