AMD Chipset Driver v3.09.01.140 – Release Notes
The official Release Notes confirm once again the restrictions with regard to the CPU and architecture generation, which are caused by the very high system requirements of Windows 11, which are very high in many areas and not always completely understandable for everyone.
The first Ryzen and Threadripper fly out
AMD A-series APUs of the 7th generation, mobile APUs of the Raven Ridge type such as the Ryzen 5 2500U (test) and CPUs of the Summit Ridge type based on the first Zen architecture with the Ryzen 7 1800X (test) at the top Still supported under Windows 10, you will no longer receive a driver for Windows 11 from AMD. The first generation of the HEDT CPU series Ryzen Threadripper alias Whitehaven with the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X (test) at the top is no longer officially supported.
The affected processors will at least be able to operate in most cases, albeit possibly with restrictions and without the official blessing of AMD and Microsoft.
Support for all chipsets
The new AMD chipset driver, which otherwise does not bring any major changes or new driver packages, should be installed on mainboards with the following chipsets and, as usual, can be downloaded from the ComputerBase download archive directly below this message.
Annotation: AMD itself recommends a clean deinstallation of the previous version, followed by a restart and the final reinstallation of the new version. The manufacturer explains this in detail in a corresponding FAQ on the subject.
